.::Phone Interview with Regina Davis::.

I was able to have a phone interview with Regina Davis, one of the recommended people by
 Prof. Gomes, she was of course very helpful and very knowledgeable on the subject. We talked about the project's supply and demand, different murals going up in places in Downtown Oakland. We will have a follow-up and discuss more of what we both thought about the final product design.

.::Meeting with Brook::.

Brook is someone I met through Instagram. She likes to document street art and she is well connected to some of the local artist. She also has a lot of knowledge of what is going around in Downtown Oakland since 2000 to now. She knows of  businesses that have been affected with illegal graffiti and turned their business around with the help of street artists covering their wall with a better visual for their business. Our talk really helped me understand what I needed to do, who I needed to connect with and what I needed to do more research on. I will meet with her again to take a street art tour and talk to some of the local businesses that she mentioned.

.::EastSide Arts Alliance New Mural::.

Today as I was walking down Fruitvale I saw that a group were working on a mural. I stopped to talk to someone that looked familiar. It was an old acquaintance from High School, Leslie, she works with East Side Arts Alliance. I spoke to her about my project and how I was trying to contact Elena Serrano, she told me that they were going to work on that mural for a while that I could stop by and talk to the artist while the mural was in process and to visit EastSide Arts Alliance.

I will post more pictures of their mural progress.

.::More Survey Outreach::.

 Today I went to Tierra Mia Cafe, a coffee shop in downtown Oakland, as I was working on my booklet I decided to leave some of my survey flyers on the table where many people come and sit down. Hopefully with this more people become interested and take the survey.

.::Survey Outreach::.

I shared my survey on Facebook, on my page, and on the page of a group I joined.
After this I received a total of 21 responses (counting previous responses from class).

Today after work I distribute flyers with a QR code of the survey
(with link just in case they don't have a QR code scanner app)
I left them in the empty bus info racks shown in picture.

After I took the previous picture of the flyers,
 a couple sitting next to the rack reached out and took some flyers.
(I was sitting behind the rack.)

I also shared the flyers at work. Hopefully this will help me collect more data.
I am planning to visit Downtown Oakland this weekend to do some observations, take some pictures and pass the survey out.

.::Survey Update::.

I made some edits to the survey so it could give me more clear answers, I have received some responses but I still need to send it out to collect more data.

.::Research-Books::.

Books from SFSU Library

This few weeks I have been looking for books articles and anything that can help me with my research. I was able to find this set of books to do my research reading. I also found some peer reviewed articles on the library database. I will have some reading material for this spring break.
