..::Visit with Darlene Tong at the Library::..

Today we visited Darlene Tong, librarian at J. Paul Leonard Library, she gave us a presentation about the research databases and the research dashboard. With this visit we became familiar with the research sources available to us for the research process of our projects. She explained the difference between primary and secondary sources. Examples for primary sources are, focus groups, surveys, observational studies, and interviews. For secondary sources some examples are, journals, books, popular magazines, and academic and scholarly articles. It was advised to include scholarly/academic/peer reviewed articles, and recent articles.

We discussed preliminary topics for our research projects. Trying to decide on the main topic to cover by weighing which topic we feel more passionate.
